Beck Online - Datenbase

Until further notice, it will be possible to search the database Beck Online in remote access and read full texts. The prerequisite is that you are in the BTU VPN area. You will also be asked to register with your BTU e-mail (@b-tu.de) with Beck.

Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press is offering online access for existing customers to higher education textbooks and key reference works to help them overcome the disruption caused by the global response to the pandemic through the end of May 2020:

Cochrane Library

Cochrane's library is now temporarily available for free. The open access is intended to facilitate the worldwide exchange of knowledge and clinical research in times of the Corona Pandemic. You don't need VPN.

De Gruyter

De Gruyter has granted free access to more than 75.000 DRM-free E-Books till 31 July 2020 via www.degruyter.com (BTU Campus network). Content of its publisher partners University of Chicago Press, University of California Press und Yale University Press is also available.

EBSCO Databases

Until 31 July 2020, EBSCO provides free access to the following two databases:

  • Business Source Ultimate - the database provides access to 2,030+ peer-reviewed journals in economics, 1,479 of them are available with the most recent issues without embargo (title list).
  • Academic Search Ultimate - this multi-disciplinary scientific database provides access to 8,450+ peer-reviewed journals, of which 6,410 are available with the most recent issues without embargo (title list).

Elsevier textbooks

Elsevier has made all textbooks freely accessible to our BTU campus network to support students and lecturers whose classes have moved from campus to online. Visit the list of titles, now available to access(by the end of August 2020).

These E-Books are not referenced in our library catalogue.

ESV Campus

Until 30 June 2020, the publisher Erich Schmidt has made his journals (including archive volumes), available to the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg campus network.

Hogrefe eLibrary

Until the end of June 2020, the University Library can offer access to 374 German e-books from the field of nursing / health care. in the BTU campus network. You will not find these titles in the library catalogue.

IEEE Courses

Staff and students of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg now have access to the IEEE eLearning Library, which includes hundreds of hours of courses in new and emerging technologies until 30 June 2020.
Visit ieee.org/ieeexplore and go to Browse>Courses to see all eLearning course topics (user guide). Please note that the modul “English for Engineering“ is not available within this offer.

Juris - Database

By the end of June 2020 it is possible to search the database Juris via remote access and read the full-text documents included. To do so please use the VPN Client of the Computer Department.

National Emergency Library

With a free account at the Internet Archive, e-books can be borrowed for 2 weeks. The offer is valid worldwide until 30 June 2020, for further information please see the article in the Internet Archive Blog.

Free textbooks of SpringerNature

Institutions will be able to access more than 500 key textbooks across Springer Nature’s eBook subject collections for free. In addition, we are making a number of German-language Springer medical training books on emergency nursing freely accessible (title lists and more information). These books will be available via SpringerLink until at least the end of July.

VDE-journals energy

The journals ew, netzpraxis, et und EUROHEAT&POWER are available to everyone from 2019 onwards. This offer is initially valid until the end of June 2020.

World Scientific

Until 31 July 2020, the publisher has made his journals available to the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg campus network. The titles will not be switched in yellow in the Electronic Journals Library.
