Description

The interdisciplinary PhD programme Cognitive and Dependable Systems offers highly-qualified doctoral candidates the chance to research current international l issues in the field of highly dependable, embedded and distributed hardware and software systems within a stimulating environment of fellow researchers and students, and a broad network of regional and international partners.

The PhD Programme embedded in the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is a full-time three-year structured programme and includes research in the areas of graphical systems, programming languages and compiler construction or wireless systems. During this period of study and research, students attend study-related modules and complete a scientific thesis.

PhD students carry out individual research for their scientific PhD thesis and are integrated into an international and interdisciplinary group of fellow PhD students and scientists.

Professional Fields of Activity

Graduates of the PhD programme are equipped for both academic careers and careers outside academia. Academic career opportunities include research associate and postdoctoral positions at universities and research centres. Other career opportunities are diverse and include positions in national and international consultancies, public administration or private companies.
