Welcome to the webpage of the Chair of Environmental Issues in Social Science. We are pleased at your interest in our activities in science and studies.

Environmental problems are social problems. These problems are on the one hand caused by human activities while they suffer the consequences of the resultant environmental degradation on the other hand. To overcome these environmental problems, it is necessary to change our perception and social behavioral mechanism.

It is our duty as part of a curriculum of a technical university to give the students an understanding of various aspects of individual and collective actions of human beings and social processes. Our studies are mainly focused on applied questions of environmental and resource management.

Prof. Wolf Schluchter represented the chair until summer 2012. Presently, Dr. Lutz Laschewski represents the chair as a visiting professor.
