Research Projects

One main task of FZLB is the management and coordination of the research platform  Hühnerwasser (Chicken Creek), an interdisciplinary landscape observatory of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. The centre is responsible for a comprehensive monitoring programme within this landscape observatory and provides basic data and time series for reserach projects using this platform.

The landscape observatory Hühnerwasser is part of the global network of Critical Zone observatories (Critical Zone Exploration Network, CZEN).

FZLB provides the office of the Centre for Sustainable Landscape Development, a joint institution of  BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, GFZ Potsdam and IGB Berlin. In this context basic as well as applied research project are planned and carried out.
