Founded in December 2009, the German-Polish Centre for Public Law and Environ-mental Network (GP PLEN) is a common scientific institution of Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus - Senftenberg and the University of Wrocław. The major bodies of GP PLEN are on the German side, the Centre for Law and Administration (ZfRV) of the BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg, and on the Polish side, the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics (WPAiE) of the University of Wrocław. GP PLEN is under the supervision of the President of the BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg and the Rector of the Alma Mater of Wrocław.

The objective of GP PLEN is the generation and consolidation of knowledge from the legal systems of both countries as well as the implementation of transboundary research projects in the areas of public law, administrative sciences and environmental protection, with an additional interdisciplinary approach.

In addition to the acquisition of funding sources to finance the research activity, a cooperation in the field of publications and the exchange of cadres and PhD-students between the two universities is intended.

The activities of GP PLEN involve activities such as conferences, symposia and cor-responding publications.
