CoArchitect: Automated architectural planning with AI support receives EXIST-funding!

The CoArchitect project at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg is an innovative research project that focuses on the automation of planning and construction processes in architecture and engineering with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

Starting from the 1st October 2024, the CoArchitect team will receive an EXIST start-up grant at the Chair of Digital Design Methods at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Planning headed by Prof. Ilija Vukorep. Anatolii Kotov, Jan Fiebig and Rama Mahathi Peri are researching how AI-supported systems can make the architectural process more efficient, creative and precise.

The CoArchitect project clearly demonstrates that AI-based automation offers enormous potential for architecture and construction. By automating planning and construction processes, building projects could not only be realized faster and more cost-effectively, but also can become more efficient and sustainable. At the same time, AI opens up new creative possibilities by supporting architects in the development of innovative design solutions.

With the initial research results of the project, the team is laying a further milestone for a future in which the mankind and machine work together on the architecture of the future. By integrating AI into the creative process as a supporting tool, it can help to master complex planning tasks and open up new possibilities for the design and construction of buildings.

The project members, with their innovative idea, are supported on their way to founding by the start-up service of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg through funding from the EXIST program. Mr. Kotov is available for further questions under: Anatolii.Kotov(at)b-tu.de
