4th Visionary Women’s Salon | Networking evening for women

The Visionärinnen*Salon connects women in academia and beyond. As part of the FEM*Vision mentoring programme, the Salon evening offers interested women a platform to get to know one another (better), network, find collaboration or tandem partners, forge alliances, present current projects or new formats, and share their vision.

Sustainable housing concepts for the Grundbach estate in Olbersdorf

In May 2026, the Grundbach estate in Olbersdorf became a working site for architecture and urban planning students from Germany and the Czech Republic. As part of a workshop, students from the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) developed visions for the future of the former miners’ estate.

Faculty 4 of BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg Elects New Dean’s Office

On 29 April 2026, Faculty 4 for Human Sciences at BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg elected a new faculty leadership team. Prof. Dr. jur. habil. Jens M. Schubert was elected Dean. The newly elected Vice Deans are Prof. Dr. phil. Juliane Noack Napoles, responsible for Academic Affairs and Teaching, and Prof. Dr. Heidrun Herzberg, responsible for Research.

BTU is celebrating European Weeks in May

The Cottbus European Weeks are taking place for the fifth time. To mark Europe Day on 9 May 2026, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and the City of Cottbus are jointly organising a varied programme that brings Europe to life in all its facets.

New film and audio walk about the Bilillee Machbuba Women’s Site at the BTU

Since last year, the first commemorative plaque honouring a Black woman has been installed as part of the ‘FrauenOrte Brandenburg’ initiative: on 9 July 2025, the 50th ‘FrauenOrt’ dedicated to Bilillee Machbuba was unveiled at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. This ‘FrauenOrt’ has now been expanded to include a film and an audio walking tour.
