SUMMARY:Gastvortrag der Fulbright-Stipendiatin Carly Lave – Man and the Machine: Envisioning Dance Performance in the Digitalized World
DESCRIPTION:Die Choreografin und Tänzerin Carly Lave präsentiert in einer Performance Lecture ihr aktuelles Forschungsprojekt: Sie untersucht Konzepte vermenschlichter Maschinen und deren kulturelle und virtuelle Manifestationen, Personifikationen und Erweiterungen, welche es ihnen erlauben „menschlicher“ und auch leiblicher zu sein. Zur Zeit ist Carly Lave Stipendiatin des Fulbright-Programms der USA und Deutschland.\nAls Choreografin zieht sie ihr Wissen und ihre Begeisterung aus alternativen Realitäten und Zukünften, welche sie auf der Bühne erschafft, um damit Anregungen für eine avantgardistische Betrachtung der Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Maschine zu geben. Ihre Choreografie integriert Bewegung, Stimme, Text, Projektion und Gegenstände, um den menschlichen Körper im Raum darzustellen. Die Präsentation beinhaltet eine kurze Darbietung der laufenden Arbeit sowie eine Diskussion über Tanzmethodik, Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion und das Konzept der Praxisforschung als Handlungsrahmen.\nCarly Lave hält einen Gastvortrag im Rahmen des Kolloquiums zur Technik- und Wissenschaftsforschung des Fachgebiets Allgemeine Technikwissenschaft. Sie ist Fulbright-Stipendiatin an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und der BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.\n\nCarly Lave will present a short performance lecture on her current research through the U.S. and Germany Fulbright Program as a choreographer and scholar of dance. Her project investigates concepts of machines as humanized: their cultural and virtual manifestations, personification, and enhancements that allow them to be more ‘human’, and even bodily.\nAs a choreographer, she derives knowledge and thrill from creating alternative realities and futures onstage which propose avant garde relationships between man and machine. Her choreography incorporates movement, voice, text, projections, and objects to envision the human body(s) in space. The presentation will include a short performance of the work-in-progress followed by a discussion about dance methodologies, human-machine interaction in performance, and the concept of ‘practice-as-research’ as a framework for creation.
