BTU goes Open Air - the Summer Semester 2021 in Cottbus and Senftenberg

Within the framework of the pandemic guidelines, the BTU will exhaust all possibilities to offer face-to-face teaching at our campuses in Senftenberg, Sachsendorf and at the main campus in Cottbus. To this end, lecturers and students will also go outside, seek innovative ways of studying together under the open sky, tent roofs and sun sails.

The study summer at the BTU should be as creative and varied as possible, even in times of Corona. Teaching is planned online and in attendance. For the classroom events, there are ideas to hold seminars in a different way, in places other than the lecture theatre. "BTU goes Open Air" is the motto for the summer semester 2021! While observing the necessary rules, there should once again be more creative exchange in learning groups, more opportunities to work on results together, to experience studying.

For this purpose:

  • Outdoor seminar rooms will be created: These are selected locations at all locations in Cottbus and Senftenberg that meet the conditions for seminars and are protected from the rain by sun sails or tents. The rooms are booked in the usual way.
  • Concerts of Instrumental and Vocal Performance and Teaching take place in a concert shell at the Sachsendorf campus in front of teaching building 7.
  • Events as part of the Student Council's (StuRa) Cultural Summer enrich student life with a varied programme including quiz nights, small music evenings, subject theme evenings, BTU Unikino and more....
