Course Programme

The ESiSt course programme consists of a one-semester language course and a one-semester subject-related course. The language course takes place in the winter semester and ends with a language examination. The subject-related courses take place in the summer semester and end with subject-related and cognitive examinations.

Language Course

During the winter semester you will attend the ESiSt language course which prepares you for the language examination as a part of your university entrance examination. The course consists of a German intensive course, conversation trainings and writing courses. You will train your written and oral language skills as well as your listening comprehension. Experienced language teachers are leading the courses and you may additionally train your language skills with German and other international students of BTU.

For all ESiSt courses, attendance is compulsory.

20 SWS core classes, daily Monday to Friday - 9.15 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Subject-Related Courses

'MIN' Course

The ‘MIN’ course takes place in the summer semester and consists of major courses in biology and mathematics as well as minor courses and practical laboratory courses, which relate to the contents of your prospective study programme. During the ‘MIN’ course you are prepared for the subject-related and cognitive university entrance examinations. After having successfully passed the examinations you are eligible to apply for the following study programmes at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg:

Extent of the Course: 32 – 34 contact hours per week

For all ESiSt courses, attendance is compulsory.

'ING' Course

The ‘ING’ course takes place in the summer semester and consists of the major subjects mathematics and physics as well as minor subjects and practical laboratory courses, which relate to the contents of your prospective study programmes. During the ‘ING’ course you are prepared for the subject-related and cognitive university entrance examinations. After having successfully passed the examinations you are eligible to apply for the following study programmes at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg:
