This is a post-graduate program of studies towards a "Philosophy Doctor in Dependable Hardware / Software Systems".

It is the first program of structured doctoral education at BTU-CS in the area of computer sciences and information technologies. Emphasis is on guided research, but there are also seminars, workshops and tutorials, in which students have to particpate actively. Such events are normally conducted in English language. Regularly admittance requires a related Master-level certificate from a recognized university, e. g. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or telecommunications. Furthermore, students, whose native language is not English, have to show a certificate of English mastership. Admittance on the base of an outstanding bachelor certificate is exceptionally possible, whereby additional preparatory studies from the master programs at BTU-CS can be made compulsory. The regular duration is 3 years.

The decison of admittance is taken by the faculty council upon recommendation of a PhD Committee, which consists of 4 professors, one post-doc researcher, and a post-graduate student.
