Short Bio:

Esraa Alhadad began her Ph.D. in 2016. She graduated from the Guidance Department in the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management in 2012 in Cairo, Egypt. In 2015, she received her Master’s degree in Heritage Conservation and Site Management from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and Helwan University Cairo. During the past five years she has attended several international conferences, workshops and seminars related to heritage management, community involvement, governance and empowerment, tourism development and museum studies in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Since 2015, she has been involved in various heritage management, community involvement and sustainable development projects with different public and private institutions in Egypt, Oman, Netherlands, Romania and Germany, addressing different case studies of both cultural and natural sites. In addition, she has carried out researches in intangible heritage, community governance, capacity building, museum management, tourism development and heritage preservation. Currently, she is working on different research projects in the cultural and socio-economic fields, combining theoretical and practical approaches.
