13668 - Sensorimotor Processing in Health and Disease Modulübersicht

Module Number: 13668
Module Title:Sensorimotor Processing in Health and Disease
Sensomotorische Verarbeitung in Gesundheit und Krankheit
Department: Faculty 1 - Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
Responsible Staff Member:
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Glasauer, Stefan
Language of Teaching / Examination:English
Duration:1 semester
Frequency of Offer: On special announcement
Credits: 6
Learning Outcome:After successfully completing the module, students know about how our brain receives and processes sensory information, how it generates motor commands and how these two components closely interact. Students are familiar with different modelling approaches and examples of diseases that affect the sensorimotor system. They will have acquired further insights into the research topic of sensorimotor processing.
Contents:
  1. Introduction to sensory systems and sensory processing
  2. Introduction to motor systems and motor commands
  3. The sensorimotor system
  4. Decision making in sensory motor control
  5. Modelling of sensorimotor processes
  6. Diseases affecting sensorimotor control
  7. Ethical aspects in connection with prostheses and experiments with patients
