Do you have a bachelor's degree in health or nursing education or a subject-related degree and are you interested in education, further education and training in the health professions?
In the Master's degree programme Vocational Education in Healthcare Professions at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg you can acquire the skills you need to carry out educational teaching, project and research work in the field of nursing and health. The degree programme enables you to take responsibility for educational processes in the health professions on the basis of scientific knowledge and the collection and reflection of practical teaching experience. This includes in particular the design of professional teaching-learning processes, the planning and implementation of projects in the field of educational, teaching and curriculum research as well as scientific fields of activity.
The Master's programme Vocational Education in Healthcare Professions is a full-time study programme over four semesters and leads (including the Master's thesis) to the acquisition of 120 credit points (3,600 hours). In terms of content, you will study the vocational specialisation of nursing, therapy or laboratory technology, the vocational specialisation of health and educational sciences.
Are you already working at a school for health professions and cannot/would not like to complete full-time study? It is possible to organise your studies as individual part-time studies.
With the Master's degree programme Vocational Education in Healthcare Professions, you will fulfil the requirements for employment at schools for healthcare professions in the state of Brandenburg.

Professional Fields of Activity

  • You will professionally design vocational teaching-learning processes at various learning locations. To this end, you will, for example, assess individual learning needs and plan, accompany and evaluate learning processes.
  • You assess learning performance at school, in the skills lab and in professional practice.
  • They assume responsibility for organisational and management tasks in vocational schools and further education institutions.
  • They participate in vocational education research projects and in this way actively contribute to the further development and professionalisation of initial, continuing and further training in the health professions.

Further fields of activity are

  • Scientific: Teaching and research at universities in primary qualifying study programmes or Master's programmes with doctoral studies.
  • Health promotion/preventive: development of offers/education for special population groups
  • Editorial: needs analysis, conception and realisation of textbooks
  • Educational: representation of the interests of the health professions and the educational requirements for guaranteeing the health care of the population, policy advice
