1st BTU Transfer Day Ideas are chances

Review
OnJuly 13, 2016, the six faculties of BTU Cottbus- Senftenberg presented selected projects, innovations and collaborations at the Research Center for Lightweight Materials, Panta Rhei.
The new event format with three-minute presentations, the "teaser sessions," focuses in particular on cooperation between commercial enterprises and the university. In this context, transfer does not only mean economic relations, but also in particular the so-called transfer over heads, the junior staff, but also the further training of specialists and executives in companies. The response and the interest in the Transfer Day were higher than expected with about 150 participants - a positive sign for the mutual appreciation of the technology transfer of all participants. The kick-off event was designed to provide brief overviews of three interdisciplinary projects from each faculty, thus highlighting their competencies on a selective basis. In the teaser sessions, representatives from politics and industry were given insights into current research, the transfer of results into practice, and opportunities for cooperation.
Afterwards, the scientists were available for further bilateral discussions, which served to establish initial contacts and exchange interests. In selected laboratories, the participants gained insights into processes for wastewater treatment, innovative concepts for the use of robots in companies, measurement methods for the characterization of micro-electro-mechanical structures and lightweight construction solutions along the entire value chain.
