2nd BTU Transfer Day Ideas are chances

Review
On October 18, 2017, the btutransfer day took place for the second time. This year, business representatives were invited to the Konrad Zuse Media Center at the Senftenberg campus to learn about current research projects and cooperation opportunities with the BTU. Anja Bölicke, Managing Director of Silicon Radar GmbH, Frankfurt (Oder), opened the event with a keynote address on the opportunities and challenges in knowledge transfer between small and medium-sized enterprises and the university. The legal framework conditions are just as important here as the internalization that knowledge and technology transfer is not a one-way street, i.e. knowledge and expertise should always be exchanged in both directions, she summarized. This year, the following presentations were based on the four research fields of the BTU: "Smart Regions and Heritage," "Energy Efficiency and Sustainability," "Biotechnology, Environment and Health," and "Cognitive and Reliable Cyber-Physical Systems. The researchers used the short speaking time of three minutes to present interesting projects in as targeted a manner as possible and thus convey a broad picture of the activities at the university in as compact a form as possible. The topics included virtual engines, lightweight construction projects, concepts for minimizing trace pollutants in rivers and lakes, and the detection of nanoparticles. In the second part of the event, the Technology and Innovation Department, the Start-Up Service, the Alumni Department, the Career Center and the Center for Continuing Education provided information about the various types of knowledge and technology transfer at the BTU. The afternoon was rounded off with selected laboratory tours of the Senftenberg Efficient Factory Center, Biotechnology, Health Sciences, and the Senftenberg Innovation Center.
