3rd BTU Transfer Day Ideas are chances

Review: New impulses in knowledge and technology transfer
This year, the 3rd btutransfer day on the BTU's central campus focused on the "Innovation Hub 13 - fast track to transfer" project. Innovative transfer formats and concepts such as technology profiles, patent exposés and transfer scouting were the central topics. At the beginning, Mr. Christopher Perschk (Managing Director EMIS Electrics GmbH) gave a short insight into the company history of EMIS Electrics GmbH and showed the necessity of innovations and transfer. Together with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katrin Lehmann (Vice Dean Fak. 3, FG Electrical Power Engineering, BTU), the discourse between business and science was conducted and was a somewhat different introduction to the transfer day. The hitherto very well functioning cooperation in the field of recruiting skilled workers on the basis of dual studies, internships, working student activities and practice-oriented theses was discussed, but also the wish for more professional proximity was expressed. The contents and goals of the project "Innovation Hub 13" were presented by the coordinators at TH Wildau and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. A central element or central contact persons in the "Innovation Hub 13" are transfer scouts in the subject areas of lightweight construction, digital integration and life science/biotechnology. In the afternoon, the transfer scouts organized workshops on these topics in order to talk specifically with the participating companies and business development actors.
Ms. Erb, Head of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Department, then provided information about the BTU's offerings for companies. The central element of the 3rd btutransfertag was an exhibition area in the foyer of the central lecture hall building, designed with a lot of commitment by scientists, start-up teams, representatives of the business development agencies and the hands-on workshops (FabLab Cottbus e.V. and ViNN:Lab). Current trends and technologies to touch, try out and discuss awaited visitors at the accompanying exhibition. From 3D printing technology to miniaturization in electronics and ventilation technology, exhibits and demonstrators were presented by experts and numerous discussions were held. The exhibition area was very well received and will be the central element for the next BTU Transfer Day on October 23, 2019.

The Innovation Hub 13 team as well as the BTU would like to thank you for the lively exchange, the many new ideas and contacts. We look forward to welcoming you again next year.
