The subject focus of the Institute "Electrical Systems and Energy Logistics" is on the one hand on the "Reliability of Electrical Systems". This includes the concept, design and characterisation of electrical and electronic systems under the aspect of reliability in the field of thermal characterisation, high-frequency metrology, electromagnetic compatibility and the process-oriented development of measuring, control and drive systems. On the other hand, a further focus is on the area "Electrical Systems and Energy Logistics". This covers interdisciplinary topics such as the transformation of energy systems including the challenges to distribution system operators, structural economic change and decentralised energy supply solutions. It also considers the range of regional energy- and climate-protection concepts and their evaluation, from new network planning models to energy saving concepts for companies, institutions and municipalities.
