The library of the Institute of Building History and Art History (IBK) supplements the holdings of the main university library (IKMZ) with special subject areas in architectural history and art history that are linked to the research foci and interests of IBK staff. As a reference library with approximately 23,000 books, it offers students and scholars of BTU's Faculty 6 as well as the wider university community the opportunity to discover new and useful ideas within a wide variety of subject areas.

The holdings of the IBK Library are indexed as part of the BTU's general library collections and are searchable through the main online catalogue OPAC.

Several computer workstations as well as a scanner and a photocopier are available for library users.
