Description

The main objective of the course is to provide students with advanced knowledge in forensic matters. This is implemented particularly in relation to practice-relevant scientific, engineering and legal issues in criminal investigations and proceedings . The students will be able to independently acquire new knowledge and skills in the field of forensic science, even after graduation. Courses in the areas of criminal crime scene investigations, law, quality assurance and the teaching of methodological skills in forensic analysis complement the study programme.

Professional Fields of Activity

The practical nature of the studies and the content focus allow graduates to take up forensics related roles in the following areas:

  • in criminal investigation agencies/investigative authorities
  • in chemical or biological investigation offices
  • Work in standard fields of chemistry, biology and physics with analytical orientation

Admissions Requirements

A first professionally qualifying university degree with at least 8 semesters completed: (proof of at least 240 credit points according to ECTS) in the field of natural sciences, engineering, law, economics, medicine or psychology, and at least one year of professional experience
