On 29 July 2026, a delegation from Pakistan visited the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). During discussions with the university management and students, Ambassador Saqlain Syedah learnt about study programmes and areas of research.

Visions for a German-Polish health region

The AGEPOL project aims to lay the foundations for a German-Polish health region. The central question is how the health, social inclusion and quality of life of older people in the cross-border region can be sustainably improved.

BTU’s Lausitz Dynamics team wins the Shell Eco-marathon

At one of the world’s largest energy efficiency competitions, the student team Lausitz Dynamics from the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) secured victory in the Prototype Hydrogen Fuel Cell category. The Shell Eco-marathon Poland took place from 24 to 28 June 2026 at the Silesia Ring in Kamień Śląski.

New film and audio walk about the Bilillee Machbuba Women’s Site at the BTU

Since last year, the first commemorative plaque honouring a Black woman has been installed as part of the ‘FrauenOrte Brandenburg’ initiative: on 9 July 2025, the 50th ‘FrauenOrt’ dedicated to Bilillee Machbuba was unveiled at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. This ‘FrauenOrt’ has now been expanded to include a film and an audio walking tour.
