SUMMARY:Open BTU: Technology and innovation for shaping a good future
DESCRIPTION:Technology and innovation for shaping a good future\nTechnological progress is of central importance for the transition to a sustainable and climate-friendly future. Careful technology assessment is required in advance to ensure that it has the desired and, if possible, no negative consequences. In order to enable sustainable technology design in the area of regional transformation such as Lusatia, it is necessary to focus closely on the needs and demand of a region. To this end, technology assessment must provide future knowledge and orientation for decisions, for example through social and political counselling.\nSpeakers: Prof. Dr Armin Grunwald, Head of the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag and Head of the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis at KIT, among others\nModeration: Prof. Dr. Roh Pin Lee, BTU, Chair of Decarbonisation and Transformation of Industry (DTI)\nVenue\nBTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Audimax 1 (Konrad-Wachsmann-Allee 3, 03046 Cottbus)\nAbout the Open BTU lecture series\nFrom 16 October 2024 to 29 January 2025, the public lecture series "Open BTU" offers insights into exciting scientific fields. In the winter semester, the following topics will be examined from different perspectives:\n 70 years of art in architecture in Germany Our Lusatia in transition - a look at the energy and economic turnaround from a historical and future perspective \nWith this educational format, which is open to all interested parties, the university's Centre for Continuing Education supports lifelong learning and funds the transfer of knowledge and ideas in the region by addressing socially relevant issues. The BTU co-operates with other universities and institutions. Each lecture will be followed by an opportunity for questions and dialogue with the speakers.
