Students and pupils took part in the Lusatian Bridge Building Competition - the traditional student competition from BTU's Mechanical Engineering department - with their self-constructed structures. It was held alongside the student Christmas market at the Konrad Zuse Media Center on Campus Senftenberg.

The Senate of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) has elected Prof. Wolfram Berger as Vice President for the next three years on the recommendation of the President. He will take office from January 1, 2024.

Female graduates, scientists, students and women with professional training related to BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg can still apply for the "EXIST-Woman" project until December 31, 2023.

Anja Herzog, a member of staff at the Institute of Health at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, presented research findings from her project "Dying people as teachers in hospices" at the Vienna Nursing Congress. This was made possible by funding from the university's Equal Opportunities Office.

On November 24, 2023, Dr.-Ing. Aleksandra Kosykh was awarded the "Premio Lino Gentilini 2023" under the patronage of the European Council at a ceremony in Trento. The Europe-wide prize is awarded to the best dissertation in the field of construction history from the previous two years.

Cyberagentur finances revolution in neuro-adaptive human-machine interaction: The Agency for Innovation in Cybersecurity GmbH (Cyberagentur) signed a contract worth 30 million euros with the Cottbus-based startup Zander Laboratories GmbH on December 15, 2023.

For her doctoral thesis on "Forced Displacement Urbanisms: Territorial Biographies and Contemporary Narratives in the Syrian Refugee Camps in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq", Layla Zibar conducted her research as part of a binational doctorate (Cotutelle de Thèse).
