Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulsportverband

The Allgemeine Deutsche Hochschulsportverband (adh) is the umbrella organisation of higher education sport institutions in Germany.

It is the only German association whose target group includes students and university staff.

Over 190 higher education institutions (universities and universities of applied sciences) with around 2.4 million students and 550,000 employees are currently members of adh.

In addition to actively representing the interests of its member universities, the adh focuses on the areas of national and international competitive sports, qualification and knowledge management. In addition, the adh and its partners prepare project developments and maintain partnerships, memberships and cooperations with 40 national and international organisations in sport and at universities.

Via the local university sports facilities, the adh reaches around 500,000 sportspeople and 4,000 trainers per week.

These can compete in more than 50 sports each year. Around 12,000 competitive and amateur athletes compete for the titles at the German University Championships, University Cups, Adh Open and adh Trophy events and enjoy the special flair of the events. The range of university sports ranges from the most popular ball sports to the classic disciplines and current trend sports: from basketball, football, hockey, swimming, karate, fencing and rowing to surfing, headis, bouldering, snowboarding or Ski-X.
