Welcome to our German intensive course B2/ C1 for visiting students at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg: "Fit for the Campus!"

Learn German quickly and efficiently from January 2 to July 15, 2023 and prepare for the digital TestDaF, your language university entrance exam. Our intensive course enables you to enter the academic world in German. The intensive German lessons with conversation in small groups are accompanied by a social program that gives you insights into the BTU and the beautiful Lausitz region with its institutions and companies.

You can do so until July 2023 if you successfully complete the course:

• You expand your German language skills up to level C1 and get to know the country, the culture, the people and the university
• You actively explore the university and the region to learn more about your local academic and career opportunities
• You prepare for everyday life and academic life in Germany
• They learn how to work scientifically and develop skills for presentations, taking notes, separating facts from opinion, or handling sources carefully.

The goal of this course is to provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to successfully complete a German language degree program .

To achieve this goal, the course prepares you for the language challenges of academic, professional, and everyday life with a task- and student-centered approach that promotes learner autonomy, mediation skills, and intercultural competence.

The target level is C1, which you need for German-language studies. In face-to-face classes from 2.1. to 9.6.2023 you will acquire the necessary language skills and university work techniques and prepare for the Test-DaF exam on 13.6.2023. Afterwards, we will offer you a phase of study orientation, information events, taster lectures and application training (uni-assist). You will learn to put your life experiences and study results into German words! Grammar is not just crammed, but embedded in real-life situations. This guarantees lasting learning success and enables you to make rapid progress.

In the German course and in the accompanying self-study we support your specific, individual learning needs through flexible and individual setting of priorities and internal differentiation.

Conversation classes in small groups with our tutors give you the opportunity to immediately apply and playfully consolidate what you have learned. In preparation for the social activities and excursions, you will research relevant information about the university and the city and discover the country and its people step by step.
