In both teaching and research, the Chair of Urban Planning focuses on urban development processes and their various spatial, social, cultural, ecological and economic manifestations. The department concentrates on the research and communication of integrated strategic approaches to urban design and planning. In this context, urban planning is understood as a task in which research, spatial design, and management are equally intertwined and where different actor constellations have partly incompatible interests.
