Admission

Applicants who want to be considered for admission to the Dual Degree must as a rule apply for WHS On-Campus. It is important that you mention in your application that you want to be considered for the Dual Degree programme (click the right box!). Students who apply for WHS Online cannot participate in the Dual Degree programme. For more information about the admission process and the required application documents, please consult the general admissions entry on this website.

Once you have been admitted into WHS On-Campus and only if you have expressed your interest to be considered for the Dual Degree programme, your application will be reviewed by a joint team of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and Deakin examiners. Candidates who have not been admitted into WHS On-Campus cannot be considered for the Dual Degree programme.

The maximum number of students to be admitted in the Dual Degree programme is fixed at 5 per year for each institution. All nominated applications are evaluated in accordance with the following selection criteria:

  • Academic merit and professional competence
  • Motivation to join the dual degree and coherence of the study plan
  • Personal record (CV)
  • Previous heritage-related experience: internships, volunteer work, professional experience
  • Proven interest in and exposure to other cultures, language skills

If you are one of the top five selected applicants, you will receive an offer to study in the Dual Degree programme.

If your application has not been selected for the Dual Degree programme, your admission to WHS On-Campus remains valid, so you can still enrol and study in the regular programme at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.
