I started my basic education in a village called Kissi in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem municipality in the Central Region of Ghana. I then proceeded to pursue my secondary education in St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast. Thereafter, I pursued my higher education for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in University of Cape Coast (Ghana) and Wageningen University and Research (The Netherlands), respectively. My research interests include wastewater treatment, waste to energy technologies, resource recovery from wastes and other renewable energy technologies. I worked as teaching and research assistants in the University of Cape Coast from 2006 to 2010. I am presently working with the University of Cape Coast, Ghana as a lecturer. I hope to become an international researcher and academic who would impact the world in the field of Environmental Engineering, particular in waste to energy technologies.

What advice to you have for prospective PhD candidates at BTU Cottbus?
Once you start the PhD programme, remain focused and determined in order to complete the programme within the stipulated time frame. In addition, I would advise you set time lines for yourself to serve as a guide as to whether your progress is good or otherwise.
