The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus Senftenberg and Wegener Center for Climate Change at the University of Graz, Austria will be receiving funds for a project called “A Boost for Rural Lignite Regions (REBOOST)”. The project aims to support stakeholders in three European lignite regions (Lusatia in Germany, Konin in Poland, and Gorj in Romania) in the transition from the current high economic dependence on lignite to a low-carbon future.

The position starts at the earliest possible.
The position is limited to the end of 2020 with an option of extending for 2 ½ year.
A master or PhD in economicsm sociology or a related discipline, an interest in structural change of regions due to phasing out of coal, Polish and/or Romanian language skills, research experience in transition problems
