Prof. Dr. phil. Christer Petersen is Chair of Applied Media Studies at the BTU Cottbus. He received his PhD at Christian-Albrechts-Universitat Kiel and has held previous appointments at the University of Kiel, University College Dublin, and University of Manitoba (Canada), teaching German language and literature, media and cultural studies. His publication and research interests extend from 20th century art, film, culture and mass media to media theory and cultural studies. In addition to several editorships and articles in these areas, he has published two monographs, one on postmodernism in narrative texts "Der postmoderne Text" (2003), and one on Peter Greenaways Films (2008). Prof. Petersen shall mainly supervise dissertation topics in the focus areas 2 and 5.
