Short Bio

Moh Ravankhah obtained a Bachelor degree in Architectural Engineering from University of Kashan, and an Master degree in Post-Disaster Reconstruction from Shahid Behashti University in Tehran, Iran. His research and teaching activities mainly fall in the area of disaster risk management and climate change adaptation, in particular developing vulnerability and risk assessment methodologies and tools. Through his PhD research, he acquired specific expertise in risk assessment and management for cultural heritage sites and historic cities. He has 5-year professional experience in architectural engineering as well as 7-year academic experience in the areas of risk assessment and management as well as Environmental and Heritage Impact Assessment (EIA/HIA) in the context of urban and regional development. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research to enhance disaster resilience and climate adaptation in urban heritage, urban planning and regional development. He has published several journal papers and book chapters with respect to multi-hazard scenarios, disaster resilience, earthquake risk assessment, risk preparedness and post-disaster sustainable development. He worked as an academic assistant in the Chair of Environmental Planning at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg for three years. Since 2016, he has been working in the Institute of Spatial and Regional Planning at the University of Stuttgart, where he is currently doing a postdoc.
