Neben dem Fokus auf fachlichen Inhalten, bieten Sommer- und Winterschulen auch kulturelle Veranstaltungen an, um das jeweilige Land besser kennen zu lernen.

Spanien: Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

The Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) is one of the leading Economics and Business schools in Europe. After 4 very successful editions, totaling 111 students from 25 countries, UAM is once again offering its Summer School of Economics and Business, from June 29 to July 24, 2020.

The SSEB is a Summer Term, where we offer four of our regular (and most popular among international students) courses, taught in English, in an intensive 4-week format (one or two courses to be chosen from the following, 6 or 12 ECTS credits):

  • Environmental Economics and Policy Analysis 
  • International Finance
  • Global Marketing
  • Doing Business in Spain

The SSEB brings together students from all over the world in a truly international environment. The academic excellence of our summer term is complimented by social and cultural events, as well as field trips, which are not offered during the regular Fall and Spring semesters.

Lebanon: Lebanese American University

Experience Arabic Language & Culture in Amazing Lebanon

The course provides an approach to dialect classes and cultural activities, which includes weekly lectures on topics related to Arab and Lebanese politics, history, society, and culture, as well as excursions to historic, touristic and cultural sites in Beirut and throughout Lebanon.

Costa Rica: Universidad de Costa Rica

Latin American Studies and Spanish as a Second Language 

The course provides an approach to Latin American culture, from a journey through its history, economic, political and social processes, literature, linguistic diversity, myths, values, prejudices, problems and challenges to better understand its cultural manifestations, based on its diversity.

Summer School "Latin American Studies"

Biodiversity and Conservation in the Tropics

The course provides an approach to learn about Biodiversity and Conservation, by not only using Costa Rica as an example but also comparing this little country with other areas of the World. The course will have lectures made by the professor or invited lecturers. Readings will be assigned for discussion during the last week and two main fieldtrips will be organized to evaluate different biodiversity and conservation projects.
