Design Project.

Basic teaching methods are tutored sessions in the studio and public presentations in front of the group. Students develop the design for a project according to the basic topics of the architectural discipline in social, scientific, methodical and artistic aspects.

Creative thinking and the ability to work in a team are primary methods of design.

Responsible design (architectural, functional and social) is an important part of the learning process, with aesthetic and technical consequences. Designing means collecting information, defining problems and finding solutions through critical analysis. Designing means also to be able to think in three dimensions and to develop methodical strategies to build these spaces according to demands of user, structure and materiality.

Models and CAD drawings are indispensable tools of this process.

Other important topics of this design course are the relationship between person and space, spaces and buildings, buildings and landscape; historical context; artistic expression; economical criteria and, one of the main competences of the architect, the ability to coordinate: Every participant of the building process has to be convinced, managed and enthused.
