Learning Outcome:

Students will acquire a deep understanding of the different technologies of carbon dioxide capture and storage system.

Contents:

Properties of Carbon dioxide; Emission sources of CO2 and emission trends; Options for mitigating CO2 emissions; Post-combustion capture; Pre-combustion capture; Oxy-fuel combustion; Emerging technologies for CO2 capture (Chemical looping combustion, Oxyfuel combustion with oxygen transport membrane) ; CO2 compression and transport; CO2 storage; Economic and Social aspect of CO2 storage

Recommended Prerequisites:Basic of thermodynamics, Energy conversion and utilization, Fuel combustion
