Learning Outcome:PhD students identify continuously the latest developments and as a result the need for further research in the field of Heritage Studies. They develop the ability to participate actively in current debates and use the acquired knowledge for the further development of their own research. Furthermore, PhD Students are enabled to develop constantly the relevance and actuality of their Dissertation projects and apply it in the publication of their dissertation.
Contents:The module consists of two elementary parts:
  • In a lecture series internal and external scientists and experts of the IGS focus areas present and discuss latest developments and the need for further research in the field of heritage studies.
  • In study groups the PhD students reflect on, discuss, and contextualize their own dissertation projects with regard to latest developments and the state of art in the field of heritage studies.

Forms of Teaching and Proportion:
  • Seminar / 4 Hours per Week per Semester
  • Self organised studies / 120 Hours
Teaching Materials and Literature:Will be announced at the beginning of the seminar.
Module Examination:Final Module Examination (MAP)
Assessment Mode for Module Examination:
  • Evaluation of a written research paper, approx. 5000 words
