Learning Outcome:The Master’s thesis will demonstrate that the student can independently and critically deal with a problem of a theoretical or applied nature in the field of heritage conservation and site management within a set deadline, and propose scientifically founded solutions in this regard.
The Master’s defence demonstrates the students’ ability to present the results of their academic work in front of an audience, to recognise interrelationships in a specific research area and to respond to questions that may arise in this context.
Contents:The Master’s examination consists of the written thesis and an oral examination.
The topic of the Master’s thesis is to be agreed upon by the candidate and two thesis supervisors (preferably from both BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and Helwan University). The student has the right to propose a thesis topic. This must be related to one of the three main study areas of the curriculum: Site and Conservation; Site Management; Visitor Management and Information.

Mandatory Prerequisites:Completion of the required coursework - 90 credits ECTS.
