Learning Outcome: | The students know the fundamental physical phenomena in plasmas. They understand basic aspects of the single particle and fluid description of plasmas, as well as basic principles of kinetic plasma theory. The students have gained knowledge of important applications of plasmas, e.g., controlled fusion and materials processing. |
Contents: | - Definition of the plasma state
- Single particle motion in electric and magnetic fields
- Stochastic processes in plasmas
- Fluid description of plasmas
- Waves in plasmas
- Kinetic description of plasmas
- Plasma boundaries
- Applications of plasmas
