Learning Outcome:Understanding the main statistical concepts and methods used in the economic analysis of ecosystem service provision and biodiversity conservation
Contents:- Basics of statistics (probability theory, exploratory data analysis, testing of hypotheses, statistical modelling)
- Economic applications: econometric analysis of land-use dynamics, contingent valuation of environmental goods
- Ecological applications: habitat suitability modelling, population viability analysis
Recommended Prerequisites:Basic knowledge of mathematics and the use of MS-Excel / Open Office Calc
