Learning Outcome: | PhD students develop the capacity to advance their own research by learning about the methodology of grant proposal writing and preparing a first version of a grant proposal themselves. They learn to research and identify suitable funding organizations, how to establish contacts and build networks to funding institutions and organizations that are of relevance for institutionalizing their research. |
Contents: | While preparing a first version of a grant proposal, PhD students become familiar with funding institutions and their goals, contents, methods, which are relevant for the further development of their respective field of research and learn about “dos and don’ts” in grant proposal writing. |
Recommended Prerequisites: | For PhD students of Environmental and Resource Management, it is recommended to have passed the module “Academic Research and Methods” before taking this module. For PhD students of Heritage Studies, it is recommended to have passed the module “Theories / Methods” before taking this module. |
