Learning Outcome:Participants learn about different economic perspectives on climate neutrality.
They will be able to describe different economic levels and distinguish their specifics: the individual, company, systemic, regional, macroeconomic and global levels.
They will understand different CO2 accounting methods and be able to compare them.
They know the relevant framework conditions and influencing factors that affect the economics of climate neutrality, including the political framework as well as technological and social influencing factors.
Contents:Among other things:
  • Basics of climate neutrality - terms, concepts, political framework
  • macroeconomic aspects (e.g. costs, benefits, damages etc.)
  • economic aspects (e.g. economic efficiency in the context of political framework)
  • Distributional and equity aspects, social dimension (e.g. distribution of costs and benefits among different social groups, conception of relevant levies, investor-user dilemmas)
  • Regional economic effects (e.g. value-added and employment effects on site and prerequisites for this)
  • Systemic aspects and infrastructures (e.g. economic evaluation and sustainability of relevant infrastructures)
  • Energy economy in transition (including new actors and business models)
