Learning Outcome:Students will gain a broad understanding of key concepts in urban design, landscape architecture and urban planning. They will cultivate their perspective on sustainable urban development and the integration of historic or existing neighbourhoods into a larger framework of urban development. By the end of the module, students are expected to demonstrate an increased awareness of fundamental principles, critical thinking skills and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real world scenarios, promoting a holistic approach to urban design.

Contents:This module will feature a dynamic range of lectures and accompanying tutorials delivered by the Chair Städtebau und Etnwerfen, Landschaftsarchitektur, Urban Design and Urban Studies and Stadtplanung, each specializing in various facets of urban design, development, and architecture in a existing context. Topics covered will include urban design and planning principles, sustainable revitalization, open space design and development strategies, as well as the intricate relationship between contemporary architecture and historical contexts. The diverse perspectives presented in the lectures will enrich students' understanding of urban design, providing a well-rounded education. Through this mandatory module, students will be enabled to critically analyse and contribute to the dynamic field of urban design and sustainable revitalization.
