Learning Outcome:Impromptu Design and Workshop: After successfully completing the module, students will be able to find solutions to specific urban problems within a limited time frame and implement these in a design format. They will be able to identify key challenges and potentials, formulate design ideas, and develop them into spatial designs in a targeted and efficient manner.
Excursion: Students will develop the ability to identify urban problems and potentials of a given site, evaluate the existing conditions, and critically analyse implemented projects. They will also gain the skill to prepare structured reports of their visit following academic formats
Contents:Impromptu Design and Workshop: Each impromptu or workshop should address one of the focal points of the Master Programme in Urban Design and Sustainable Revitalization. Students will be asked to critically analyze the site and propose design solutions depending on the workshop topic.

Excursion: Each excursion includes a visit to a site or a project addressing one of the focal points of the Master Programme in Urban Design and Sustainable Revitalization. Students will be asked to conduct a preparatory task prior to the excursion, critically analyse the site during the excursion, and finally, prepare a well-structured report about their experience..

Module Examination:Continuous Assessment (MCA)
Assessment Mode for Module Examination:In order for the module to be recognised, a total of three courses and/or workshops or an excursion must be demonstrated and recognised. The weighting for the module grade is 1/3 each. A maximum of two impromptu courses and/or workshops may be taken in the same department/professorship

Impromptu/workshop: The work to be completed for each impromptu or workshop is determined by the respective lecturer at the beginning and may include in particular preparation of plans, construction of a model, written elaboration, presentation of the design or concept, structural realisation of an object, intervention in urban space.

Excursion: Excursion report (content-related preparation and follow-up) (50%); participation in the excursion including thematic contributions on site or as part of an accompanying seminar (presentation approx. 15 min) (50%)
