Learning Outcome:This module „Mobility Planning and Climate Adaption“ focuses on imparting knowledge of the planning field of mobility and transport. After completing the module, students will be able to understand the fundamentals, instruments, procedures, methods and players in mobility and transport planning in Germany and the respective current challenges of climate protection and climate adaptation as well as solution approaches.
Contents:The module „Mobility Planning and Climate Adaption“ provides an overview of mobility planning in Germany and the current and future challenges and tasks in mobility planning resulting from climate protection and climate adaptation.
  • Targets of mobility planning with regard to climate protection and climate adaptation
  • Properties and development of transport supply and transport demand 
  • Transport impacts (particularly in relation to the environment and climate)
  • Climate adaption and road space design (including a focus on public transport, cycling and walking)
  • Methods for analysing and evaluating sustainability, economic efficiency and environmental compatibility of transport systems

Assessment Mode for Module Examination:
  • Completion of 2 exercises on topics related to Mobility planning and climate adaptation (40% weighting for module grade)
  • Oral examination, 20 min (60% weighting for module grade)
