15030 - Practical Research Training: Fluid- and Process Engineering Modulübersicht

Module Number: 15030
Module Title:Practical Research Training: Fluid- and Process Engineering
  Forschungspraktikum: Strömungs- und Verfahrenstechnik
Department: Faculty 2 - Environment and Natural Sciences
Responsible Staff Member:
  • Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Klepel, Olaf
Language of Teaching / Examination:English
Duration:1 semester
Frequency of Offer: Every semester
Credits: 12
Learning Outcome:

In the practical research training programme, students can apply and deepen the theoretical concepts, methods and strategies they have learnt during their studies when working on a complex scientific problem in the field of fluid- and process engineering. Using the infrastructure of external research institutions or companies, students also acquire knowledge and skills in new methods and technologies. They analyse company processes and the technologies used in a industrial work environment with a predominantly researching or developing activity character. At the end of the module, students will have consolidated skills in dealing with scientific information sources, in data collection, documentation and evaluation as well as in summarising, presenting and discussing scientific results.

Contents:

- Reviewing and analysing scientific information sources including primary literature

-  Processing a scientific task using experimental and/or theoretical methods

-  Collecting, documenting and analysing data

-  Preparation of the written thesis

-  Colloquium with oral presentation and discussion

Remarks:

The research internship is usually completed at a research institution outside the BTU or a company with its own research department under the supervision of a university lecturer involved in the curriculum. The choice of research institution is up to the students. In reasonable exceptional cases, the internship can also be completed in a working group within the BTU.

Module Components:

- self organized studies

-  colloquium

Components to be offered in the Current Semester:
  • no assignment
