Learning Outcome: | Students are enabled to understand the basic feedback control principle and to apply it to simple problems. Students should acquire basic knowledge to model and analyse simple dynamic systems and to design simple control systems. |
Contents: | System properties: linear and time invariant systems, mathematical description of dynamic systems: linearization, linear differential equations with constant coefficients, models of first and second order, step response, LAPLACE transform and transfer function, analysis of signal flows and block diagrams, frequency response, stability.Feedback control: standard feedback control schemes, PID-controller, basic design procedures, Ziegler-Nichols-tuning of PID-controllers, control design using BODE plots, computer based design with MATLAB. |
