Learning Outcome:After successful completion of the module, students have an overview of economic approaches and methods and an understanding of how to apply these approaches to solve societal problems including problems of environmental and resource management.

  • Costs of production and firms in competitive markets
  • Monopoly and oligopoly
  • Economics of labour markets
  • Externalities, Cost and Pigou
  • Economic analysis of environmental policy instruments
  • Risk and its regulation
  • Feed and tariffs
  • Economics of renewable and non-renewable resources
