Learning Outcome:Understanding hydrological processes in catchments and hydraulic processes in channels, rivers and pipes. Basic hydrological and hydraulic modelling skills.
Contents:Hydrology: hydrological cycle, precipitations measurements and analysis, evaporation analysis, rainfall-runoff analysis, climate change impacts, urban hydrology.

Open Channel Hydraulics: Uniform flow in channels and pipes, steady-state and unsteady flow, non-uniform flow in channels and pipes, hydraulic structures, sediment transport.
Exercises: analytic solutions, manual calculations and numerical modelling of river flow and hydraulic structures.
