Learning Outcome:

Understanding of and experiences in Web-based collaborative engineering in research and professional projects distributed team work and management in “virtual environment” based on information sharing.

Contents:

Introduction of Web-based collaboration and related working methods, central and distributed collaboration, synchronous and asynchronous collaboration, time management and time shift working; coordination, cooperation and competition; team management, documentation and reporting in engineering projects.
Information exchange and information sharing interaction agreements, version and access control, Web-based tools for conferencing (chat, audio, video), application sharing, web-based project platforms (CSWS), engineering reports based on the media paper and on the media Web.

Team work exercise “HydroWeb”: teams from several EuroAquae partner universities are working on a river management project via Internet as independent units using Web technology to overcome the spatial distribution.
