Hamdy Abdelaty, Dr.

Hamdy completed his Ph.D. dissertation on open innovation and SME innovation performance at Freie Universität Berlin where he joined as a DAAD scholarship-holder. He holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in business administration from Cairo University, Egypt.

Before joining the team in 2024, Hamdy was a postdoctoral researcher of innovation policy and SME innovation behavior at the Freie Universität Berlin. Hamdy’s research extended to cover climate policy, sustainability, and green transition.

His research has been published in several scientific journals such as Innovation: Organization and Management, Journal of Innovation and Knowledge and Sustainability.

Hamdy joined the BTU in March 2024 as Entrepreneurship and Innovation Manager at the Energy Innovation Center (EIZ).
