Very good ratings by BTU students in the CHE Master Ranking

Top marks and top rankings in the renowned Germany-wide ranking of the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) were achieved by the master's degree programs in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

The master's program in mechanical engineering at the BTU's central campus in Cottbus scores particularly well in the student evaluations with regard to the support provided by the teaching staff and is highly praised for the support provided during studies, the organization of studies and the successful transition from the bachelor's to the master's program. "Time is always taken for students. The teaching at BTU, especially the support from the lecturers, is very good," students note. The master's program in electrical engineering is in the top group for research funding per researcher. Among other things, the master's students from civil engineering rate the courses offered, the organization of studies and the transition from the bachelor's to the master's program positively. At the Senftenberg site, the master's programs in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering achieve good results with regard to contact with professional practice. Moreover, mechanical engineering is in the top group in terms of research funding per professor.

The Vice President for Studies and Teaching at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Prof. Dr. Peer Schmidt, emphasizes in this context: "After the very good performance of our Bachelor's programs in the CHE ranking, we are now particularly pleased about the current evaluation in the Master's programs. We see our efforts rewarded to make engineering studies even more attractive with modern courses and to further improve the supervision situation. This commitment is now being rewarded by the students with their evaluations. Oriented to the needs of students and practice, we will continue to work intensively in this direction."

About the CHE Master Ranking: The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed ranking of German universities and universities of applied sciences and dual universities. In the current master ranking with the judgements of country widely scarcely 10,000 master students the subjects of the engineering sciences and psychology examined again. Student judgments and facts about research and teaching together provide an overview of the study conditions in the master's program in these subjects. Results for facts and judgments are each assigned to a top, middle and bottom group. The student magazine ZEIT CAMPUS publishes a selection of the results. The current issue 1/23 with the ranking results for engineering sciences at universities and HAW / universities of applied sciences will be available in stores from November 22, 2022. The following issue 2/23 in February 2023 will present results for psychology.
